…a new weight loss journey. If you read my 2017 resolutions recap post, you’ll remember that my fitness category was the most neglected. It’s time to make some changes! I have a plan to eat healthier and to work out more using our newly acquired treadmill. I’m tired of feeling unhealthy, so it’s time to change!


…for some relief from the weather. The weather here in Massachusetts has been absolutely terrible lately. And by terrible I mean – I don’t think it’s gotten warmer than 12 degrees (F) in more than a week. As I’m writing this, it’s 7 degrees with a “feels like” temperature of -4. It’s impossible to go outside and to top things off, we have a blizzard coming on Thursday. Please send some warmth!


…blog and social media posts! To stay less stressed and more organized this year, I’m going to make more of an effort to schedule things in advance. I started this week with scheduling my Instagram posts and will be working hard to stay ahead of my blog schedule to do the same. I’m hoping this will keep things running even more smoothly in the year to come.


..The Stars Are Fire by Anita Shreve. I started it in December, but found myself without any free time for books, however I’m very intrigued by what I’ve read so far. I love the style of the writing and can’t wait to see how the dramatic events unfold.


…The new Zelda game: Breath of the Wild with my husband D! D’s birthday was in early December and I gifted him a Nintendo Switch and also this Zelda game. Since we’re both video game nerds, we’ve been enjoying this immensely, and I highly recommend the game. The world they built is huge and immersive – they did such a good job with even the tiniest of details. Plus, this gives D and I a chance to spend time having fun together while we can’t go outside.

  1. Best of luck on your goal to better health! I always tell people to ease into it and don’t let it be a all or nothing month. Brrrr to you guys in Mass! Down here in NC we are waiting temperatures to break the 33 degree mark. And our low has been 7-10 most nights so what the crap?!?! I hope your January is amazing, wonderful, and all you want it to be (please add in warms up to that too!)

  2. Ugh, I feel you on the weather – and I hope that blizzard turns out to be not so bad! It feels like it’s been snowing nonstop here for weeks, but at least it’s just a few inches a day, so the plows (and my arms + shovel) can deal with it… A new video game sounds like a great thing to do instead of going outside 🙂

  3. Good luck with your health goals! My dance classes start back this Friday and I’m going to try and get into Yoga by going once a week with a friend. I’m thinking of joining a gym in February but we’ll see how this month goes with my working out. I do okay with eating well, but finding some new recipes would be great!

    I also need to focus on scheduling ahead, especially on the blog. I’d like to schedule Instagram posts a bit more too though.


  4. I totally feel you on the ridiculously cold weather! We’ve been in the negatives or just right above 0 for the past week now and I’d be happy if it would even reach 20 or 30 degrees.
