Now that November is underway, I thought it would be a great time to take a look at my Monthly Goal Review. I find that these posts helps keep me accountable and focused on making my monthly goals a reality. I track my monthly goals in the notes pages preceding the monthly calendar in my Erin Condren Life Planner. This is the planner I use every day of my life. Keeping it all in one book makes it easy to flip back and forth as the weeks go on.
Today we’re taking a look back at my successes and failures in the month of October as well as what I have planned for the month ahead.
For the month of October, I focused on four categories: Blog, Home, Miscellaneous, and Me. In the Blog category, I met my goal of posting 12 times during the month as well as joining 3 Pinterest group boards. I actually ended up joining almost double that amount, and it’s been a great way to get my content out there. The other two goals in this category were just a little too lofty. Why did I think I could create 40 pins for old blog posts in one month?? That’s way too many. I also need to focus more on commenting on other blogs since I fell behind in that as well.
I did the best in the Home category this month, completing everything I set out to do. This included selling some clothes and old DVDs on eBay in a decluttering effort. I also came up with a cleaning schedule and organized the kitchen pantry.
In the Miscellaneous and Me categories, I scored 50% in each. I added a new recipe to our rotation specifically for D. I also went to a concert, completed our Halloween movie marathon and read one book. I’m pretty happy with this and will keep making progress in the next month.
November is a bit pared down when compared to October, but most of the categories are the same: Blog, Home, and Me with the addition of the T-Day category.
For the Blog, I’m again aiming for 12 posts in the month. This seems to be the sweet spot for me. I’m also hoping to explore Pinterest Tribes, which should be interesting to learn about. There are also two giveaway goals on this list: wrapping up the one that’s going on now, as well as starting another specifically for the month of November.
In the Home category, I want to continue selling things on eBay. I’m also planning to donate a bunch of decluttered kitchenware and books to charity. Last month’s goal of creating a cleaning schedule led to the discovery of zone cleaning, which is something I want to continue throughout November. The T-Day category includes some high level things that need to get done before the big day that I want to make sure I’m working on consistently. Whether or not I achieve them all, Thanksgiving will come and go and this category will be considered completed at the end.
Lastly, in the Me category, I kept it simple: read one book and start using our brand new treadmill (which is being delivered today!).
How did you do on your October goals?
