Sephora VIB Sale Recommendations | Fall 2017

It’s Sephora VIB Sale time again! The fall sale is the largest discount Sephora offers every year, so it’s the perfect time to stock up on pricey staples or branch out and try something new. I’m here today to share with you some of my best recommendations for the sale, ranging from skin and hair care to palettes and miscellaneous makeup. I know I’ll be placing a large order myself, and I will be back in a week to share my haul. Stay tuned for that!

One huge tip: make sure you’re using Ebates! I’ve been using Ebates for years and have gotten hundreds of dollars back from them, just for shopping as I normally would online. As of the time I’m writing this post, Sephora is offering 2.5% cash back through Ebates, though normally they give around 4-8%. When you’re spending a lot of money as most of us will do during this sale, that’s a significant return! If you sign up through my referral link here, you will also automatically get $10 added to your account.

Here are all the important details, dates and codes:

Base Products

I can’t write a recommendations post without including a concealer, and the best I’ve found at Sephora is the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer. It’s extremely blendable and creamy and is the second best concealer I’ve ever tried (Tarte Shape Tape is #1, but is unfortunately not sold at Sephora).

This year I’ve also gotten really interested in foundations and have found two that I highly recommend. The first is the Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation which has great coverage and lasts all day. The second is a recent discovery. About a month ago I tried the Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation and Concealer after receiving a sample and all day marveled at how flawless my makeup appeared. I went home and purchased the full size immediately. I love it!

Hair Care

A subscription box is to blame for both of these next two recommendations: the Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo and the Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scrub with Sea Salt. I became addicted to both immediately after trying them. The dry shampoo is the best one I’ve ever used, hands down. It does have a strong white-cast, but I find that after it dries and is worked through the hair that it dissipates. It does an excellent job at removing the oil from my hair and making it feel fresh again. I was skeptical about the Christophe Robin Scrub at first because I had never used anything of the sort, but my hair LOVES this stuff. I use it about once a week and it brings my hair back to life, making it smooth, light and bouncy.

Skin Care

If there’s one thing I’m going to stock up on hardcore during the sale it’s sheet masks. I love the Sephora Sheet Mask Set in particular for this. Dr. Jart+ also makes one of my favorite masks of all time, the All That Contours Hydrogel Stretch Mask. I learned about this one on YouTube and have already gone through two full boxes over the past year. It’s great for firming and lifting, and I see a change in my skin right away after using.

We can’t discuss skin care without touching on one of the most powerful skin care tools in my inventory: the Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil. This stuff is pricey, so I tend to save it for special occasions or when my skin is looking particularly dull. But I swear, after putting this on at night, my skin looks completely transformed by the morning! I also recommend taking a look at the Power Couple Duo, which includes Luna as well as Good Genes, a lactic acid moisturizer in a value set.

Palettes

The Tarte Tartelette Toasted is my new favorite palette of all time. It’s perfectly blendable and creates warm, stunning looks every time. This is my number one palette recommendation for this sale! I’ve also really been loving the Urban Decay Heavy Metals palette for completely different reasons. This one has an equal mixture of colorful and neutral shades and all of them are metallic shimmers. I love having palettes like this in my inventory to pull for special looks or occasions.

I also highly recommend picking up a classic staple palette like the original Urban Decay Naked. A palette like this is perfect to pair with any look you’re doing and is perfect for everyday at the office or at school.

If you’re looking to splurge a little, Viseart and Natasha Denona are the two to splurge on. I love the selection of Viseart Theory Palettes. They allow you to try out Viseart without dropping the more than $80 for a full size. Similarly, Natasha Denona has her Eyeshadow Palette 5 collection including two new ones made specifically for the holiday season. I have several of these and love them. There are no shimmers like Natasha Denona shimmers. And if you’re ready to take the full plunge, I love the look of the Sunset Palette.

Miscellaneous Makeup

I don’t know about you, but I’m constantly in need of new Beauty Blenders. I love picking up a value set during these sales, and I really like the look of the Beauty Blender: Two.BB.Clean Set. It comes with two Beauty Blenders, plus a cleanser.

Now for something pure fun: glitter! I fell in love with the Stila Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadows this year. There’s nothing more vibrant and sparkly than these products, and I always receive compliments when I wear them. I also recently picked up the Eye for Elegance Set which has several Glitter & Glow colors as well as the new formula called Shimmer & Glow.

The Sephora Favorites are always a huge value for the money, and I love to use the VIB Sale to grab one or two. I really like the look of the Sephora Favorites Glow For It Set in particular.

And finally, now is a great time to pick up some staple makeup products for your collection. My favorite all time mascara is the Benefit Roller Lash. I don’t think I will ever travel with a mascara other than this. It builds up the lashes with so little effort and looks stunning. Another travel (and everyday!) staple for me is the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder. This powder sets foundation and concealer perfectly, creating a smooth look without changing the color of the products you’re wearing.

And that does it for my recommendations! Don’t forget that this sale is also a great time to stock up on gifts for family and friends for the holidays. Also, make sure to check back next week to see what I ended up picking up for myself.

  1. You have divided your recommendations very well in categories. I wish a few things but not sure if I will be purchasing during the sale. 🙂 I need to get some skin care and some Sephora favorites sets I am so tempted by them. 🙂
