Welcome back to another installment of my year-long series, One Week One Palette! While doing One Week One Palette, I dedicate a full week to a specific palette in my collection, rotating through as many as I can throughout the year. It’s a great way to make sure you’re getting use out of your entire makeup collection. This week we’re taking a look at a palette that already made an appearance earlier this year, as well as the long awaiting Tarte Toasted!

This palette has been featured on One Week One Palette before, but it had been a while and I wanted to pull it back out. Last time around I wasn’t overly impressed, but it was decent enough – especially considering the $10 price tag.
This time around, my opinion of the palette was not a good one. Maybe it’s because I’ve been using so many amazing eyeshadow formulas lately, but I really disliked using this palette. The mattes are hard to blend and there isn’t much color payoff. Not to mention that it’s nearly impossible to get the shimmers to build up to an opaque look. I was quite ready to move on from this palette after the week, and unfortunately this may be a candidate for declutter.
I had my eye on this palette since it was originally previewed by Tarte a few months back. Though I was tempted, I didn’t pick up the Naked Heat earlier this year, which has many similar tones and shades. Being that Tarte is my favorite beauty brand, I thought this would be a great option to fill this warm-toned hole in my collection. When it finally released, I jumped on it immediately (and I mean the second it went on sale).
After all that hype, was it worth it? There is no doubt in my mind that the answer is YES! This is my new absolute favorite palette. I think this will even be the one I take with me traveling from now on. The mattes are so blendable – it takes almost no effort. I can’t think of another matte formula in my collection that blends so effortlessly. Not to mention that the matte colors are just stunning and create the most gorgeous looks.
As for the shimmers, I love them even more! I’m a sucker for a really light shimmer and this palette has many to choose from. There is a little fallout, but the pigment is vibrant. I was honestly sad when I had to move on to a different palette the next week, but I know I will keep coming back to this one time and again.
Have you picked up any new makeup lately? What did you get?
